PACK-BOY Packing Cutter  ART-110




Packing cross section and packing length relationship as well as parallel-cut packing ends are the basic criteria of packing rings being cut by the PACK-BOY calibrating and cutting tool.


 

Calibrating and cutting tool for soft packings, for shaft diameter up to 110mm, with extension scale (optional) up to 250mm.

 

1. First step to measuring the size of stuffing box and shaft. Zuerst die Masse der Bohrung und der Welle ermitteln.

2. Take the difference and divide by two, then you know the packing cross section.

3. Set clearance between the rollers by moving the adjustable roller head on scale, packing cross section.

4. Move slide bar on scale and line up packings cross section ☐ - on cross section scale with shaft diameter and to fix the scale, ready.

5. Select standard packing cross section rather thinner than thicker. Push free end of packing between rollers onto cutting plate so that full cross section can be bias-cut to give a clean-cut end. Remove the packing and turn through 180° so that the cut end reaches the slide bar stop. The angle of the cut and the angle of the slide bar stop should now match.
